The Grizzly Boot is one of our favorite boots. Ever. The craftsmanship is far beyond any piece of footwear we have come across. Visvim footwear is made by a lovely Taiwanese family and everything they do is completely by hand. We had the pleasure of meeting them on our last visit to Japan at the Visvim store. They are fourth generation shoe-makers with a dedication we had never seen before. They explained to us the process of making the Grizzly Mid-Folk's. A single boot takes around 30 hours to assemble, and thanks to Hiroki Nakamura, it is one of the most difficult pieces of footwear they have helped execute.
The body of the boot is a Horween vegetable tanned cow leather, while the uppers are a Swedish vegetable tanned cow suede. The handmade Good Year welt construction Vibram outsole is replaceable. These boots are also composed of vegetable tanned cow leather lining, natural cork foot-bedding, and a TPU heel stabilizer for added comfort and balance.
